H & S this morning is postponed. Lathe setup and test this afternoon.

Due to circumstances beyond our control the Health & Safety course this morning will not now go ahead. Apologies in advance to anyone that turns up.

This afternoon some people will be needed to help set up our own wood turning lathe in the shed. From 2pm until 4pm.

Very  informative and educational Health & Safety course given today by Greg.
7 people attended and should now be competent to operate safely the circular saw in the shed.

Greg will continue, with another tool, at the same time next

Model Railway Project: Open Day.


Boyle Men's Shed today invited members of the local community in to inspect the excellent progress that has been taking place on the model railway project. Visitors were treated to a Powerpoint presentation on the project, and a guided tour of the high quality work carried out to date.

Model Railway Project Goes Full Steam Ahead!

The Boyle Men’s Shed Group are currently working on a new project that will be a family visitor's attraction in Boyle: Boyle’s very own ‘Mini Model Railway World’!

This large and ambitious project is under construction and is now looking for people to help with building, making and painting scenery. If you are interested you can contact any of the numbers below:

St. Patrick's Day Report.

Boyle Men's Shed entered a float in this year's St. Patrick's Day parade...




...Well done to all involved and thanks to those who volunteered on the day!

For their St. Patrick's Day float, CLASP Men's Shed (Geevagh, Co Sligo) employed a very fine boat that they have made. The boat was later blessed and launched on Lough Arrow. Congratulations to all involved in the project...

News & Opportunities.

 
Some of the Boyle Men's Shed group are joining a ‘Grow Together Group’ in Knockvciar Organic Garden starting on Tuesday March 5th until November 5th, there are two times available: 1.30pm to 3pm or 3.30pm to 5pm.

The Boyle group are going to visit a shed belonging to one of the members on Tuesday 12th March to try woodturning as a possible activity when a premises is found. We will be meeting at the the Family Life Centre at 9.30am. If interested please contact Louise @ the Centre ( the location is outside Boyle, so we need to arrange transport).

Boyle Men's Shed will be putting a float into the St Patricks Day Parade in Boyle. More info next week. If anyone has a ‘spare’ old garden shed that could be used for the day please contact us!
